Personal:
Shelby was born and raised in beautiful South Lake Tahoe, California. Her love of dance took center stage during her childhood and teenage years—and she will always feel blessed to have performed onstage for many audiences at her hometown college.
Family ties brought Shelby to central New Mexico in 2003. Before embarking upon her real estate career, she studied criminal justice for several semesters. But, during this time, some of the other things in her life would convince her of the fact that she was really best suited for a profession in which she could help people, face to face—and see them made happy by her efforts. She learned this about herself from her volunteer work at the animal shelter, as a childcare provider at her church, and as a server at her neighborhood eatery.
After Shelby realized that she was meant for a career centered on customer service, it wasn't hard for her to connect that to her lifelong love of homes. Big homes and little homes. Homes in all shapes and sizes. Shelby's one of those people whose idea of a great Sunday is to take off after church and drive around looking at Open Houses! So, when it dawned on her that she could spend her time in and around lots of different houses, while helping people and seeing them smile, and make her living at the same time—well, she knew she had a plan!
